TM Design Lab is an independent embroidery and small-batch design studio in San Diego. We help individuals, brands, and teams turn logos, illustrations, and custom ideas into premium, durable embroidery. Every design is digitized in-house, tested for clean thread detail, and stitched on commercial machinery.

STEP-BY-STEP • OUR PROCESS

How to Start Your Custom Project

Submit Your Artwork & Idea Send us your design using the form below. Vector files (.AI, .EPS, .SVG, .PDF) or high-resolution images (.PNG, .JPG) work great. Let us know the garment type, preferred placement (chest, sleeve, back), and approximate size.

Review Your Quote We evaluate your design, stitch count, and thread colors, then email you an itemized quote within 24–48 hours.

Test Sew-Out & Approval Before stitching your final garments, we run a real fabric test sample to make sure the detail, tension, and thread colors look sharp. We share a photo for your sign-off.

Production & Shipping Your order is stitched in our San Diego studio, individually inspected and trimmed by hand, and carefully packed for local pickup or direct delivery.
PREPARATION • FILE GUIDELINES

Artwork & File Guidelines

  • Accepted Artwork: Vector files (.AI, .EPS, .SVG, .PDF) are ideal. High-resolution images (.PNG, .JPG) are welcome and digitized in-house.
  • Lettering Size: For clean, legible embroidery, text should be at least 0.2" (5mm) tall.
  • Thread Color System: High-sheen, lint-free Fil-Tec Glide trilobal polyester thread for rich, durable color.
  • Ready-to-Stitch Files: Already have embroidery files? We accept .DST, .PES, .EXP, and most commercial formats—or we handle the complete physical embroidery for you.
